FBI, DEA, ATF, others

FEDERAL DEPARTMENT PROTOCOL

The following agencies operate under direct federal mandate. Access to these units is by Server staff appointment only. Their jurisdiction is absolute within their defined purviews and supersedes all state and local authority.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)

Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity

What We Do: The Federal Bureau of Investigation is the nation's premier law enforcement and domestic intelligence agency. While state and local departments address immediate crime, the FBI confronts threats that transcend city and county lines, targeting the most complex and insidious criminal enterprises. Our mandate is to protect San Andreas from terrorist threats, to combat public corruption at all levels of government, and to investigate the most significant federal crimes.

Core Jurisdictions:

  • National Security & Counter-Terrorism: Identifying, disrupting, and neutralizing threats to the state from foreign and domestic terror groups.

  • Public Corruption & Civil Rights: The designated watchdog for all government agencies. We investigate corruption, bribery, and abuse of power within police departments, city hall, and the justice system itself.

  • Organized Crime & Major Theft: Dismantling sophisticated criminal syndicates, from established mafias to violent street gangs engaged in federal offenses.

  • Complex Financial Crimes: Pursuing high-level white-collar crime, fraud, and money laundering operations that destabilize our economy.

Our Mission: To protect the people and uphold the Constitution of the United States by leading and enabling our partners in law enforcement and intelligence to defeat national security and criminal threats. We are the ultimate safeguard.

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

The Unrelenting Pursuit

What We Do: The Drug Enforcement Administration has one mission: to enforce the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States. Where local narcotics units see street-level dealers, we see the global network. The DEA's sole focus is the identification, investigation, and dismantlement of major drug-trafficking organizations (DTOs), clandestine drug laboratories, and the entire supply chain that floods our state with illegal narcotics.

Core Operations:

  • Trafficking Interdiction: Targeting the leadership and infrastructure of drug cartels and smuggling operations, from the border to the block.

  • Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement: The specialized tactical mission of locating and safely dismantling illegal drug manufacturing sites, including meth labs and pill presses.

  • Undercover & Surveillance Operations: Deploying highly-trained special agents for long-term infiltration into sophisticated criminal organizations.

  • Asset Forfeiture: Seizing the illicit profits, property, and tools of the drug trade to permanently cripple trafficking operations.

Our Mission: To attack and dismantle the entire ecosystem of illegal drug production and distribution, ensuring the safety and health of our communities by cutting the head off the snake.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF)

In the Nexus of Crime

What We Do: The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives stands at the volatile intersection of commerce and crime. The ATF is the sole federal agency tasked with investigating the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, the criminal deployment of explosives and arson, and the illegal diversion of alcohol and tobacco products. We follow the gun, we trace the bomb, and we hold violent offenders accountable.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Firearms Trafficking: Investigating illegal arms dealers, "ghost gun" manufacturing, and the flow of weapons to violent gangs and prohibited persons. We are the experts on firearm tracing and ballistics.

  • Explosives & Arson Investigation: The nation's primary authority on bombing investigations. Our Certified Explosives Specialists respond to and analyze all explosive-related incidents and major arson-for-profit schemes.

  • Violent Crime Task Forces: Leading and participating in multi-agency task forces to target and dismantle the most violent criminal organizations in the state.

Our Mission: To protect the public from violent crime involving firearms, explosives, and arson. We deny criminals the tools of their trade and bring a specialized, technical expertise to the fight against violence.

United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS)

We Protect the Mail. We Protect the Nation.

What We Do: As one of the nation's oldest and most formidable law enforcement agencies, the USPIS ensures the integrity and security of the U.S. Mail system. Anything that touches the mail falls under our jurisdiction. In the modern age, this domain includes a vast array of high-stakes crime, from the shipment of narcotics and illegal weapons to mail fraud and identity theft schemes that defraud citizens of millions.

Core Mandates:

  • Contraband Interdiction: Seizing illegal narcotics, firearms, and other dangerous materials sent through the mail stream.

  • Mail & Wire Fraud Investigation: Pursuing complex schemes that use the mail or electronic communications to commit fraud, scams, and identity theft.

  • Prohibited Mailings & Mail Bombs: Investigating threats, dangerous chemicals, and explosive devices sent via the U.S. Postal Service, often in direct coordination with the ATF and FBI.

  • Mail Theft & Crimes Against Employees: Protecting the sanctity of the mail by investigating armed robberies of postal carriers and large-scale theft from postal facilities.

Our Mission: To enforce the laws that defend the nation's mail system from illegal or dangerous use and to ensure public trust in the mail. No postmark can hide the truth.
