What We Do
The Los Santos Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency responsible for the safety and security of the citizens of Los Santos. Our duties are vast and crucial to the functioning of a safe and prosperous city. We are dedicated to the fair and impartial enforcement of the law, the prevention of crime, and building a strong, positive relationship with the community we serve.
Core Responsibilities
Our daily operations are broken down into several key areas:
🚓 1. Patrol Operations
This is the backbone of the LSPD. Patrol officers are the most visible members of the department and are responsible for:
Responding to 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency calls.
Conducting proactive patrols to deter criminal activity.
Enforcing traffic laws and investigating traffic accidents.
Providing immediate assistance to citizens in need and being the first on the scene.
🔎 2. Investigative Services
When a serious crime occurs, our detectives take the lead. The Investigative Services Division handles:
In-depth investigation of major crimes such as homicides, robberies, and organized crime.
Gathering and processing forensic evidence from crime scenes.
Interviewing witnesses, victims, and suspects to solve complex cases.
Working alongside the District Attorney's office to ensure successful prosecutions.
✈️ 3. Specialized Units
To handle the unique challenges of a diverse city, the LSPD maintains several specialized units, including:
S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons and Tactics): Our elite tactical unit for high-risk situations like hostage rescue, active shooters, and serving high-risk warrants.
Air Support Division (ASD): Providing aerial surveillance, pursuit support, and a strategic overview of the city.
K-9 Unit: Utilizing highly trained canines for narcotics detection, suspect apprehension, and search and rescue operations.
